The Vision

MSK Architects were commissioned to prepare a visionary masterplan for the redevelopment and commercial extension of Central Coast Stadium (currently Polytec Stadium) in Gosford, NSW. The brief aimed to unlock the site’s full potential by transforming underused areas beneath the grandstands and creating new commercial opportunities that complement the stadium’s prime waterfront location.

The proposal features a new multi-storey car park on the western side of the stadium, topped with a function and event centre offering panoramic views over Brisbane Water. Connected to this structure is a modern commercial office building with distinctive stepped terraces and landscaped rooftop gardens. On the north-east corner, a commercial tower provides additional premium office and hospitality spaces, acting as a visual anchor along the waterfront.

To enhance the game-day and visitor experience, the eastern grandstand is activated with a retail strip comprising cafes, restaurants, and boutique outlets, creating a lively public interface with the adjacent parkland and foreshore promenade. The architectural language blends sleek curtainwalls, vertical greenery, and dynamic roof forms, ensuring the new structures harmonise with the existing stadium while projecting a contemporary identity for Gosford.

This concept redefines Central Coast Stadium as a year-round destination — not only a premier sports venue but also a hub for business, leisure, and community events — maximising the site’s commercial value while celebrating its waterfront setting.
