Vision

MSK Architects’ Hill’s Tennis Extension Master Plan reimagines the existing tennis facility at Fred Caterson Reserve as a dynamic, multi-functional community hub. The project carefully integrates new and upgraded infrastructure within the natural landscape, enhancing both usability and visitor experience.

The master plan delivers a significant expansion of tennis facilities, including new courts, hot shot courts for junior development, and upgraded playing surfaces. A centrally positioned two-level clubhouse provides a pro shop, amenities, and social spaces, complemented by an outdoor café and viewing platform that overlooks the courts, reinforcing the social and spectator experience.

Accessibility

Connectivity and accessibility are key drivers of the design. The plan introduces new pedestrian pathways, improved circulation routes, and a footbridge connection across Showground Road, ensuring safe and seamless access. Additional parking, including innovative under-court parking, supports increased capacity while maintaining a compact footprint.

Conmmunity

Community engagement is further enhanced through the inclusion of a children’s playground, picnic and BBQ areas, landscaped open spaces, and spectator grandstands. Thoughtful interventions such as access ramps, updated stairs, and clear wayfinding promote inclusivity across the precinct.

Staging

Delivered in staged development, the master plan ensures minimal disruption to existing operations while enabling long-term growth. Overall, the project transforms the site into a vibrant recreational destination that supports sport, leisure, and community interaction.
